This policy explains what we collect when we call a restaurant for you, why, who helps us do it, and how long we keep it.Moshicall is run by Augustin Villetard, entrepreneur individuel (micro-entreprise), who is the data controller. Questions or requests go to hello@moshicall.com.
What we collect
- Your booking request: your name, your email address, the restaurant's phone number, date, time, number of guests, how flexible you are, and anything you write about the place.
- Optional notes: allergies, occasions or seating wishes, if you choose to add them.
- The call: an audio recording, a Japanese transcript, an English translation and a short recap of the conversation with the restaurant.
- Payment: Stripe handles your card. We only receive the payment status and a payment reference, never your full card number.
- Technical data: Cloudflare processes your IP address and request logs to deliver and protect the site.
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies to process your payment securely.
Why we use it
- To make the call and give you the result. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Allergy and other health information is only used to pass it on to the restaurant, and only if you choose to write it down. We rely on your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw it before the call by emailing us.
- To handle refunds and disputes, prevent abuse, and improve how the assistant speaks by reviewing transcripts. These are our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To keep accounting records as the law requires (Art. 6(1)(c)).
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
If you work at a restaurant we called
We call restaurants on behalf of guests from overseas. Our calls are recorded and transcribed so that the guest gets an accurate account of what was agreed and so that disputes can be resolved. We only use the recording for that booking and for improving our calls, and it is deleted on the schedule below. You can ask us to delete it sooner at hello@moshicall.com.
Who processes it for us
These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service:
- Cloudflare: Hosting the website and storing bookings (Global network, EU and US)
- Vapi: Running the phone call, storing the recording and transcript (United States)
- Twilio: The phone line the call is placed from (United States)
- OpenAI: The language model the assistant speaks with during the call (United States)
- Microsoft Azure: The Japanese voice of the assistant (Global)
- Deepgram: Turning the restaurant's speech into text (United States)
- OpenRouter and Google: Writing your name in katakana, translating the call, writing the recap (United States)
- Stripe: Card payments (EU and United States)
- Resend: Sending your result email (United States)
Some of them are in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Bookings, transcripts and call recordings are deleted automatically 180 days after the booking was made.
- Payment and accounting records are kept for as long as French law requires, up to 10 years.
- The result email stays in your inbox for as long as you keep it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy of it. Email hello@moshicall.com from the address you booked with and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or to the authority in your own country.
