1. Who we are
Moshicall (moshicall.com) is operated by Augustin Villetard, entrepreneur individuel (micro-entreprise) ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@moshicall.com.
2. What we do
You give us a restaurant's phone number and your booking request. We phone that restaurant using an AI voice assistant that speaks Japanese, try to book a table that matches your request, and tell you how the call went on your booking page and by email. If nobody answers, we try once more in the next calling window.
The assistant always introduces itself as an AI calling on behalf of a guest from overseas. We are not a restaurant, a travel agency or a reservation platform, and we are not affiliated with the restaurants we call. The booking itself is between you and the restaurant.
Restaurants don't answer the phone during service, so we call in quieter windows, Japan time. Your booking page shows when the call is scheduled.
3. Price and payment
The price is ¥1,000 per guest, with a minimum of ¥2,000 per booking. The total is shown before you pay. When you submit a request, Stripe places a hold on your card for that amount. We only charge it if the booking is confirmed (see section 4). In every other case the hold is released. Your bank decides how quickly a released hold disappears from your statement, usually within a few days. Currency conversion is done by your card issuer.
4. When a booking counts as confirmed
A booking is confirmed when, during the call, the restaurant agrees to seat your party on the date you asked for, for the number of guests you asked for, at your requested time or within the flexibility you chose. If the restaurant offers anything else, such as another day, we don't accept it for you, we don't charge you, and we tell you what they offered.
Restaurants may attach conditions, such as a set course, a time limit or a cancellation fee. We pass these on as they were told to us. They are part of your arrangement with the restaurant.
5. What we can't promise, and refunds
- We can't guarantee that a restaurant answers, has space, or accepts guests from overseas. If it doesn't work out, you pay nothing.
- Speech recognition and translation can make mistakes. The recap and the Japanese booking card are our best record of the call, not a document issued by the restaurant.
- If we charged you and the restaurant has no record of your booking when you arrive, or our recap got the date, time or party size wrong, email us within 14 days and we will refund you in full.
6. Your part
- Give accurate details, and a number that belongs to a restaurant you actually want to book.
- Don't use Moshicall to call private individuals, make fake bookings or bother anyone. We may refuse or cancel such requests without charge.
- Keep the booking, or cancel it directly with the restaurant as early as you can. Their number is on your booking card. Any cancellation or no-show fee the restaurant charges is yours to pay.
- Allergy and dietary notes are passed on as a request. We can't guarantee the restaurant can meet them. If an allergy is serious, confirm it with the staff when you arrive.
7. Cancelling a request, and your right of withdrawal
Until the call is made you can cancel your request by emailing us your booking link. We release the hold and nothing is charged.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a service contract. By submitting a request, you ask us to start the service straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose this right once the service has been fully performed, that is, once the call has been made and its result reported to you.
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any booking is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not responsible for the restaurant's food, service, prices or conditions, or for a restaurant's decision to cancel. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to sort things out.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published when you submit a request applies to that request. How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
